About the artist…
Since childhood, I have been interested in drawing, painting, and crafts. I remember being reprimanded in elementary school for daydreaming and doodling in my notebook. I was always fascinated by nature and would spend a lot of time staring at objects, noticing their colors and shades. The most fulfilling moments during my free time was spent drawing, painting, and crafting. After retirement, finally, I had the chance to again pursue my first passion: Art.
My primary themes are places, pets, and portraits. Most of my work is photography-based. I am often inspired by photographs that I take myself, but I am also moved by work from professional photographers, friends, and family. Sometimes I will refer to multiple photographs as I work on one painting. Photographs can help the artist find details that many painters would ordinarily leave out. When painting from photography, I find that keeping imperfections found in the images makes my paintings look more authentic.
